A PDF and editable PPT recording format for a waterproof or non-waterproof materials investigation, differentiated to include one version with a table for recording results and one with simply squared paper. My Year 2 children created their own tables on this section or a Venn dagram with wood in the overlapping section, following observations and discussions.

Seaside themed animal adaptations recording sheets.
Comprises:
sail fish
newt
seagull
sea lion
All have arrows to signify an adaptation for the sea e.g. oil fur for waterproof qualities. Children annotate the pictures to describe the adaptations.
Seaside themed pictures to classify into ‘Living’, ‘No longer living’ and ‘Never living’.

Children sort the cards into their animal groups and discuss common features.

Children draw or write the names of the animals in the correct habitat on their sheet (4 habitats or 2 habitats depending on ability).
